Our mission is to accelerate Texas's economic growth and enhance the quality of life enjoyed by its people by advancing the development of rail service to its full potential as a carrier of freight and passengers.

Texas Rail Advocates is a 501(c)3 not for profit grass-roots organization.

TRA meets with the public and private sector to advance rail issues through legislative outreach at the local, state and federal level, advances awareness through conferences and a speaker bureau and develops action programs such as a billboard campaign and development of National Train Day programs in Dallas and Fort Worth.

TRA board members have testified at state transportation committee hearings on rail issues and have provided background information to various organizations as needed.  TRA also encourages the public to be pro-active on rail development issues and welcomes new members to the organization.

The Texas Rail Advocates website www.texasrailadvocates.org serves as an informational and educational link for all sectors of the rail industry and reports on rail news of importance for Texas and the Southwest.
